A beautiful and popular shrub with numerous attributes, including striking spikes of fragrant lilac-pink flowers in late spring. The small rounded foliage contributes to a uniform, compact shape. Plant in a location that has well-drained soil; after establishment, it is drought tolerant. Prune to maintain the compact rounded shape each year around Father's Day as this is shortly after the flowers bloom. Flowers can be cut to enjoy in bouquets and scent many different products, such as candles and soaps.
