A small, attractive Juniper named for its prostrate growth habit. Silver blue in color, Blue Carpet provides interest all year round, with color changing to a blue-green in the winter cold. Its compact, rounded shape requires little to no pruning. It is an excellent evergreen option for foundations, mixed borders, and rock gardens. It will produce blue berry-like cones, where the female ones each contain a single seed. Once established, it is drought tolerant. Blue Carpet Juniper does not tolerate poorly drained soils. Its bark is a scaly brown.
