Description:
On a whole, Switch Grasses are very hardy and do well in our native clay soil. Totem Pole offers a strictly vertical habit, resembling columns of steel blue. Late summer brings about the airy, panicle style plumes of greenish-cream that turn into golden seed heads. A clumping grass, Totem Pole's foliage can be used as a lower screen, mass planting, or even specimen planting. Seed heads can be left for the birds to enjoy or cut the stems to use in autumn and winter décor. This Switch Grass is able to handle both wet and dry conditions once established.
