Description:
The Cherokee Brave Dogwood has deep pink to red bracts that fade as the blossoms age. After the bracts have faded, fruits appear, turning bright red in fall. Its green foliage is tinted with burgundy, especially at the tips. This color gives way to maroon in autumn. Best performance is in a location that receives shade in the hot afternoon sun as well as protected from strong winds. Both bracts and fruits can be used in floral arrangements. This small ornamental shade tree is a nativar.
