Description:
The first of its kind in this species, this spectacular summer-bloomer blooms on both old and new wood. Enormous deep pink globe-shaped flowers turn blue in acidic soil; for clay soils, add aluminum sulfate for the color change. Foliage is somewhat coarse. Do not prune in the fall, and only lightly prune to shape and remove dead in the spring. Spent flowers can be deadheaded. Flowers can be used in floral bouquets.
