Purple Rain Jacob's Ladder features ferny foliage with a maroon overlay during the spring. This color will be present later in the year when exposed to the sun, although summer allows the green to show through. Violet flower clusters are found on upright stems in spring. These flowers can be cut and enjoyed. After blooming, cut back the flower stalks unless you would like some to reseed.
