Description:
Allegheny Viburnum is a dense, upright shrub covered in textured, leathery, dark green foliage. Large clusters of fragrant, creamy white flowers give way to red berries. These berries ripen to black in color and attract birds. Prune as needed shortly after flowering occurs, noting that berry production will be reduced for the year. Renewal pruning every few years helps encourage new growth; cut the fattest stems to the ground to achieve this. In mild winters, this shrub will retain at least some of its foliage.
