Description:
Black Hat Rhododendron is one of the few dwarf varieties with the large leaves and flower clusters. The bright purple ruffled blooms look amazing against the backdrop of dark purple-green foliage. In cooler temperatures, this leathery foliage is closer to black. Like all Rhododendrons, Black Hat requires acidic, well-drained soils. To achieve this in our clay soils, we recommend regular applications of aluminum sulfate.
