Description:

Puffer Fish Hydrangea is considered to be a larger, more puffed up version of the Bobo Hydrangea, with fluffy white blooms that engulf the entire plant, nearly obscuring the foliage. The flowers open and mature to a pure white before aging to lime green. Straying from the standard Panicle Hydrangea bloom pattern, the Puffer Fish will put forth a fresh cluster of white flowers at the tip of the panicle after the aging to lime green. These blooms do not take on pink tones of other Panicle Hydrangeas. It has a tight, compact habit with stems strong enough to hold its blooms. At the end of the season, the flowers dry to a papery brown. One of the lowest maintenance Hydrangeas, Puffer Fish offers winter interest by keeping their blooms on all winter. Prune in early spring to remove old flowers and to shape. Blooms can be enjoyed in fresh and dried arrangements.
