Description:
The Neon Burst Dogwood is a small and compact shrub with chartreuse colored leaves in spring and summer. This color is best in full sun and becomes more greenish in part shade. As they emerge, the leaves will be tinged in red. In autumn, the foliage shows off in an array of purples, reds, yellows, and oranges. Small white flowers are not too noticeable and give way to white drupes (berry-like fruit). Stems have a red hue in spring and become a glossy scarlet red in autumn. To help keep the color intense, prune 1/3 of the oldest stems each spring. Plant in rows or masses to help create a stunning look in winter. Flowers, leaves, and stems can all be used in floral arrangements.
