Sweetly fragrant flower heads consist of tiny tubular white flowers in a ball-shaped cluster, attracting a number of different pollinators. These then turn into a golf ball sized red fruit, containing seeds for birds. Glossy green foliage change to shades of red and orange in fall. Plant in a location with moisture, as it does not tolerate dry soils. This buttonbush is a nativar.
