Description:The Merlot Redbud is great for smaller landscapes. Bright lavender-pink flowers occur before the foliage emerges. The foliage is thick and glossy, wine red to dark purple all season long. Heart shaped leaves hold their color throughout the season, although lack of sunlight might cause the color to fade. Redbuds respond to planting better when still young. Merlot is a nativar.
