Forest Pansy is known for its heart-shaped foliage that is purple all season long. Due to this color, its fall color consists of more than just yellow, bringing in some oranges and reds. The bright pink-purple pea-like flowers occur before foliage emerges each spring. Forest Pansy is a small ornamental tree that makes an excellent focal point, patio tree, or window tree. It is also a nativar. Redbuds respond to planting better when still young.
