🌱 Join Us for a Fun and Educational Morning at Wasson Nursery! 🌱

Bring your little gardeners and embark on an exciting journey to learn how we can better care for the Earth! At Wasson Nursery, we’re offering a hands-on experience that combines learning with fun activities to inspire environmental stewardship in children.

During our event, your little ones will:

  • Explore Recycling: Learn how simple actions can make a big difference in protecting our planet.
  • Participate in a "Use This, Not That" Exercise: Engage in a fun, interactive activity to understand sustainable choices.
  • Enjoy a Story: Hear a captivating tale that encourages eco-consciousness and respect for nature.
  • Create a Take-Home Project: Your children will plant native seeds in a biodegradable container—an educational craft they can nurture at home.

Give your child a chance to learn and create at our free Kids’ Mother's Day Planter Workshop! Kids will discover the basics of gardening 🌱 while planting and caring for plants.

They’ll also craft a personalized gift that’s both meaningful and educational. This hands-on activity teaches responsibility, creativity, and the joy of giving, making it the perfect way to celebrate Mom while learning something new—all for free!

"DAD'S ROCK" FATHER'S DAY KIDS' CRAFT


TIME: 10 A.M. to Noon
LOCATIONS: Fishers, Muncie & Union City

Celebrate Father's Day with a creative twist at Wasson Nursery! Join us for a fun, free kids' craft event where children can paint a "cactus" rock, create a cheerful "You ROCK Dad" sign, and decorate a unique pot to hold their masterpiece. It's the perfect way to make a heartfelt, handmade gift for Dad this Father's Day!

POLLINATOR WEEK

MUNCIE
Saturday, June 21 

11 a.m.

During the drop-in Flapping Butterfly craft activity, Ball State University Environmental Education and Greenhouse Coordinator, Erica Oliver will discuss the basics of what a pollinator does and why. The discussion will also cover how pollination is a symbiotic relationship and the different types of pollinators in our area. We will also identify flower traits that people should look for if they want to attract specific pollinators to their garden.

FLAPPING BUTTERFLIES

TIME: 10 A.M. to Noon
LOCATIONS: Fishers, Muncie & Union City

Stop in for a free kids' craft event where we'll be making flapping butterflies! 

This exciting hands-on activity will let children create their own colorful butterflies with simple materials, and watch them flap with a fun, interactive design. Perfect for all ages, it’s a great way to spark creativity and enjoy some crafting fun together.

Ball State University Orchid Collection Curator, Halyn Ferris will explore the essential role of pollinators and their importance in our ecosystem. The discussion will delve into pollination as a symbiotic relationship, highlighting the various types of pollinators found in our region. Additionally, Halyn will guide participants on identifying key flower traits that can attract specific pollinators to their gardens, helping to create a thriving, pollinator-friendly environment after the Kids' Bee Bath Workshop.
