The Flowering Dogwood is an excellent small ornamental tree that also provides shade. This dogwood is native to Indiana. Plant this dogwood in a location that is protected from strong winds as well as shaded from the afternoon sun; it will not tolerate poor soil drainage. Both the flowers and the fruits can be used in floral arrangements.
