Description:

Watermelon Ruffles Hibiscus features heavily ruffled, large, 7 inch blooms of magenta pink with puckered edges. These blossoms are indeterminate, meaning one can find more along each stem instead of just at the ends. Late to emerge in spring, pinching back the plant in June can encourage a bushier habit and more blooms on an already compact and sturdy habit. This pinching is not required. Cut back the previous year’s growth to inches above the ground in early spring. This nativar is a water loving plant, great in low spots and wet areas.

Attracts: Bees; Hummingbirds

Other Names: Rose Mallow; Dinner Plate Hibiscus; Perennial Hibiscus; Hardy Hibiscus
