Latin Name: Hydrangea macrophylla ‘BAILMACSIX’
Height: 18 – 36 inches
Spread: 18 – 36 inches
Sunlight: Part Sun; Part Shade
Bloom Time: May to frost
Hardiness Zone: 4-9
Description:
The Pop Star Hydrangea was introduced to the industry in 2022. It features a small stature with tight, strong stems. These become covered in lacecap blooms all season long, as it reblooms continuously, occurring on both old and new wood. The color of the blooms is pH dependent – acidic for blue and alkaline for pink. Our clay soil allows the pink blooms to occur naturally. For the blue color, aluminum sulfate must be added each season. Do not prune in the fall, and only lightly prune to shape and remove dead in the spring. Deadheading helps to encourage more blooms. The flowers can be cut and enjoyed fresh or dried.
Other Names: Bigleaf Hydrangea; Big Leaf Hydrangea; French Hydrangea; Endless Summer
