Five Finger Maidenhair features distinctive, delicate fronds arranged from a central point, resembling fingers. Fingers can number 5 to 10 on a single slender black stem. This Maidenhair loves moisture and shade, often seen growing along cliffs and waterfalls, especially in the Western parts of the United States. This fern is ideal for woodland gardens, natural settings, and shady, moist areas. Old and damaged fronts should be removed each spring to boost healthy new growth.
