Berries ripen in late July to August and are great for eating fresh, in pies and salads, and making into jams and jellies, as well as other food items. Glossy blue-green foliage turns brilliant red in fall. This blueberry is self pollinating although it will produce better yields if another variety is planted nearby. It also needs acidic soil, so regular applications of acidic soil is recommended. Top Hat Blueberry can be planted in containers or in the ground. This variety will tolerate some shade unlike most other blueberries.
